This was a big loss for Taroona. 1 point ahead of Olympia with Sth, Kingborough and Knights to come.
ReplyDeleteOlympia have Sth (today), Kingborough, Knights and Zebras.
If Knights don't throw the last game against Taroona, as some have suggested, this will be a very tense season's end for the 2 clubs.
I know Jacob Huigsloot, Googsy, Alex Holmes, Corey (despite his eccentricities), Amadu - there is no way these guys will go into a competitive game of football and not give 100%.
ReplyDeleteCorey's season is over. Not a team player.
ReplyDeleteKnights will be going for 2nd spot, there is no way of them laying low against Taroona.
ReplyDeleteI'm a Knights player
anon 11.31
ReplyDeleteits surprising u dont have a nappy rash around your lips with all the shite you sprout
marsh was a standout on the circuit last night
ReplyDeleteAnon 12 39? I play at Knights, and trust me, we are happy Corey is no longer playing this yr. He is a liability on the field. Disgraceful. Too many send offs. Grow up Corey.
ReplyDeleteAny results from south yet?
ReplyDelete1-1 draw I have heard.
ReplyDeletegeoff freeman is a joke
ReplyDelete1 - 1 it was!
ReplyDeleteC'mon Olympia!!!!!!!!!
corey smith is a bigger joke
ReplyDeletehows that! the bottom team only the second all year to take points from a south game...Do not be surprised to see eagles defeat south next week and surge to the final of the cup
ReplyDeletethat would be extermely surprising. South won't do that again this year.
ReplyDeleteFirst v last............possibly counting their chickens
ReplyDeleteso far south is laying the eggs, the others are doing the anonymus cackling.
ReplyDeleteyeh good to see our state team couldnt even beat bottom place looks good for the state game
ReplyDeleteso south happen to have one bad game this year against the worst team. stop giving them a hard time about the state team when there the best players. have a look at your own club and see where they are compared to south, and count how many bad games they have had.....
ReplyDeleteWhat's the reserves and nineteens scores today?
ReplyDeletereserves 2-1 knights favour, mk and garth scored while under 19's 5-0 king favour!
ReplyDeletei heard voss got dropped frm the southern team because leamey has a bigger kick
ReplyDeletehow mature the posts on here are trying to wind people up! grow some!
ReplyDeletevossy got da biggest kick in da world
ReplyDeletevossy has no soul
ReplyDeleteSo I think Ken Morton was Rattled by the chance that a Brazillian was going to play against his side. Good result Olympia!!!
ReplyDeletemy oh my, how the olympia president has changed his tune over the last couple of weeks, i heard that most of the south boys were out the night before the match, who wouldnt be out celebrating when you have won the league with a roiund to spare and you are coming up against the last place team.
ReplyDeleteRS
Taroona to survive by a point when Knights throw the last game of the season.
ReplyDeleteDon't kid yourselves... South were trying their hardest yesterday to beat Olympia and weren't good enough on the day, none of them looked like they had a "night out" the night before. Olympia had the better of the 1st half, South were only able to have a few long range attempts that weren't too much trouble and their goal was purely down to poor marking, nothing to do with outplaying Olympia. Olympia had some good chances in the 1st half with Kosta putting 1 away. 2nd half South came out firing but couldn't put any chances away, were unlucky with the disallowed free kick but at senior level, it is a rookie mistake to not know when a kick is direct or indirect ie: whether or not the ref is holding his arm up to indicate direct/indirect or an even simpler solution. to just ask him??
ReplyDeleteRegardless, Olympia could've won the game in the dying minutes with Kosta's strike was saved well by Sam K in goals. So for anyone who watched the game that has a clue or isn't biased on the Ken Morton/South bandwagon.. then they would agree that It was a fair result yesterday between the 2 teams and that South were trying their hardest regarless of whether they had already won the title or not. I know if i had been undefeated the whole season, i wouldn't want to lose or even draw against the bottom team..!!
Just a shame the Warriors couldn't show this heart, skill and form all year...!!!
rumor has it ian parker or franco prevedi will coach knights next season
ReplyDeletezebras to get some big signings next season and will challenge south beware
ReplyDeletejackson marsh and corey smith to sign for clarence next season confirmed
ReplyDeleteMatthew Sanders has apparently become homesick and will be moving back to Tassie next year and living with his Uncle Mick.
ReplyDeleteknights could do without smith and his antics. he is their main problem, as talented as the boy is. they should try to keep marsh, though. solid utility who keeps things simple. if there is any truth to the sanders rumour, i doubt he would play for any other club than knights.
ReplyDeleteKnights could lose a few players in the off season, not only from the seniors but the reserve and u19 squads. They need to retain players such as Jacob Huigsloot, Alex Holmes and Matt Nowicki as they are the future. I've spoken directly to a few of my friends there and by all accounts, a lot of the players are sick and tired of favoritism and people getting picked, even though they don't train, as well as people such as Juma Barbara and MK (apologies, don't know his name) being picked and starting, even though they turn up five minutes before kick off and rarely train. I know a few people like Callen Griffen, Matt Russell and Brendan Garth, who have been very solid in the reserves against us are thinking about moving on to improve at a club that has more stability and the same rules for everyone. I would have them pushing for bench spots at our club because they give everything they have.
ReplyDeleteNick Harrison has been thrown in the deep end at Knights. I hope he stays involved in local Soccer because from what I have experienced he is a really top guy and a genuine person. Good luck for the rest of the year, Nick.
With the oustanding result against south, Olympia are a chance to make top 4 now!!!!
ReplyDeleteOlympia v Taroona for relegation looks like it will be very close.
ReplyDelete2 teams going in 2 different directions. Will not be close.
ReplyDeletei think all the rumors are a load of crap, parker hasnt been spotted for years, prevedi will not coach knights, marsh and smith will not leave knights, i have heard sanders may be back but not at knights
ReplyDeletehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2t3a5YEwvrA
ReplyDeletePrevidi will coach Knights for the right sum - just don't know if Knights have that much money. Would be worth every cent.
ReplyDeleteOlympia didn't need their Brazilian. Had him on the bench but didn't bring him on. However, I noticed South used theirs - albeit to no avail.
ReplyDeleteGreat youtube link above. Jon Lo what a dick!
ReplyDeletewhy would anyone from within a club write the crap that is on here? why would you mention players who are unhappy or happy or whatever? nobody cares on here so shut the hell up!!! take it up with your club you morons!!!
ReplyDeletewhy would there be any new signings at zebras. maybe if frediani is gone and the committee start supporting ressies and 19s instead of pushing them aside. team they have now will be lucky to make top 4 next season if it stays the same
ReplyDeleteHAha J Lo and Bart, Gold. Good on them. nothing wrong with having a few to many and let loose on the old microphone.
ReplyDeleteHolmes and Fielding dominated them going forward in the second half. who would of thought Holmes as an attacking midfielder and Fielding up front! they even combined for a goal and could of had a few more.
ReplyDeleteinteresting to see jono ladic watching knights training last night aparently wants to come back next season as he is selling his buisness "brothers with guns" as the buisness is booming hes going to cash in and collect alot of money
ReplyDeleteall this talk about old smithers getting sent off in the first half is funny considering he still probably won knights the game in the time he was on 1)set up first goal on a plate 2) great finish on goal 3) got a flick on to the throw in to the far post for a header
ReplyDeletesmithers you are my man
When will you people learn nobody cares about Mr. C Smith and his childish behaviour.
ReplyDeleteHolmes was on the ground for like 10 mins. hardly would say he got near the ball
ReplyDeletehardly would say u know how to speak english haha! did he set up fielding's goal?
ReplyDeleteHe's got a big one!
ReplyDeleteHomes solid, but not something to build a team around. C. Smith is pointless. when do they announce the cuts to the Tas squad? That will be interesting.
ReplyDeletethe funny thing is corey didnt even give geoff freeman the finger he gave him 3 and pointed at the score board. OH and y didnt freeman get sent from the bench of abusing a knights spectator????
ReplyDelete5.49pm anon, who are your picks to get cut from the state squad then???
ReplyDeleteomg hopefully ccm send down some refs if not they wont have a team to play us by half time --- they will wonder whats going on if softass decisions and sendoffs happen as they play a lot rougher up there and the refs dont wear skirts
ReplyDeleteThere really aren't that many red cards handed out, or at least from what I can see. Sort of wish there were more, it might liven things up.
ReplyDeleteAlthough chances are you've never read the Laws of the Game and don't have a clue what actually warrants a red card. You are just going off what YOU think warrants one from your limited experience of watching and/or playing the game. But then again I haven't read them either.
Joey Simmons Riverside Olympic
ReplyDeleteChris McKenna Devonport City
Bobby Eaves Somerset
Mark Iseli. Kingborough Lions
Nathan Pitchford New Town Eagles
Ben Crosswell Tilford Zebras
Ricky Self Tilford Zebras
Brayden Mann Ulverstone
Sam Kruijver South Hobart
Daniel Brown South Hobart
Hugh Ludford South Hobart
Liam Scott South Hobart
Bart Beecroft South Hobart
Tom Roach South Hobart
Shae Hickey South Hobart
Jonathon Lo South Hobart
If Ludford is in team that is a joke.
ReplyDeleteanon 10.05
ReplyDeletei didnt say amounts in red cards here i just said the softness of them and yellows for that matter.
20 years involvement as a junior coach/manager senior player and some reffing when needed if refs didnt show up.
guess your correct - limited knowledge.
but even those of limited knowledge can see a blatant show of inept descision making by players coachs and refs alike.
perhaps we can both steal a copy of the refs bible and become better informed lol
anon @ 10:49 - three goal keepers?? Why would there be that many named? Surely one would be cut from the squad of 25!
ReplyDeleteludford is useless, iseli is useless and hickey is not at that level although i love the bloke
ReplyDeleteIseli useless?? you really have no clue.. be the striker that plays against him and then say that again
ReplyDeleteAbbott should be in this team no doubt.
ReplyDelete1. why would they consider someone from the TIS if they didn't have intentions of naming him in the 16 to play ccm.
2. He is ten times the player ludford and brown are.
3. He is very strong for his age, deceivingly quick, great in the air, strong in tackles and he will always put his body on the line for the team.
4. For anyone who brings up the argument he hasn't played at a high enough level to compete (i.e. southern premier league). He has played at two national titles and three institute challenges and skill level there is miles better than that of the premier league down here.
yeah, but is he consistently playing at the top level down here? no. hughy and dogga have been consistent for a long time, dogga especially having a great season. we all know he's quality, but his time will come. sit down parent! *cue the i'm no parent etc
ReplyDeletei can not beleive richard flood didnt make this squad
ReplyDeleteHey anon 11:22,
ReplyDelete"2. ten times the player brown is?" I dont even like dogga brown i think he is a twat but abbott is not ten times better or he would be playing in europe somewhere! I've told you a million times about exagerating on this blog!!
Who would be the top 3 wingers in the comp??
ReplyDeleteanon 9.40,
ReplyDeletewho would you have in the team instead of Ludford, Iselie and Hickey?
anon 12:28
ReplyDeleteIts a figure of speech babycakes
anon 2.03pm, in th statesquad these people could do a job on the wing: Self, hickey, Lo, maybe Hamlett. Not a lot of out and out wingers, as none of those players would call themselves 'wingers'
ReplyDeletethe 'wingers' mentioned are all good players but i'd have to agree that they are not wingers. apart from maybe self none of those guys could consistently knock in a decent cross.
ReplyDeleteState wide cup this week should see to good games.I think it may be our hot toppic in the final.South v North. This week SOUTH to win 4-0
ReplyDeleteBURNIE to win 3-1
iseli would have to be the best defender in the state
ReplyDeleteU would think a winger would be selected then maybe..
ReplyDeleteiseli was made to look second rate against knights at the weekend and was to fault for the first two goals, considering no players at knights are good enough for the state team i would say that makes him second rate?
ReplyDeletemr abbott there are several players in the premier league that played at national titles when they were younger, they were very good as 'kids' also but did they continue on and make the state 'mens' team? no they didn't and neither should Will at this stage
ReplyDeleteludford has been consistent his whole career, consistently average at best
ReplyDeleteAnon 3:34 I'm not sure which game you were watching - The first goal was a miss kick from one of iseli's team mates which left knights with a 2 on 1 with the goal keeper.
ReplyDeleteI missed the second one but i'd say its probably pretty likely you got that one wrong too
Sorry - thats for anon 3:44**
ReplyDeleteanon 4.03 i was on the field and play for kingborough and i can tell you it was marcs fault
ReplyDeleteWhich one?
ReplyDeleteMatch fitness could be an issue for the Tassie players against the CCM. I'd be looking at fit & fast players for selection if they are close in ability.
ReplyDeleteAbbott/Brown? Iseli/Ludford?
South defence are very good, but have they really been tested? They have made some terrible mistakes just like other teams!
One that can knock a consistent ball over.
ReplyDeleteIts easy to say that they "should have selected a winger, but who is there that hasn't been selected that u think should have been? There isn't any fantastic out and out wingers at the moment. Go through the teams in ur head, which 'wingers' deserve to be there? No-one that isn't already there.
ReplyDelete433
ReplyDeleteonly the outside forwards should be described as wingers.
Hamlett and Croswell would do me fine with McKenna in the middle.
As for Wil Abbott - he has done nothing Sam McIntyre hasn't done except stay in the TIS. Is this why he gets in over a Sam McIntyre? The system looks after itself.
knights vs state team on sunday night at kgv
ReplyDeleteJade Clay was one of the best wingers i saw last season, not sure about his form this year?
ReplyDeleteIf I was Will Abbott, I would have a fiddle with the Nanny Lock on the home computer to stop my Dad from getting on here and writing about me. Just an option Will.
ReplyDeleteI have just been reading some of the crap on here. Please note that if I write on a blog it will have my name on it. Rick Abbott
ReplyDeletewhat is up with people being vilified for writing positive comments about someone? Is that how bad these blogs have become?
ReplyDeleteWhy are people now trying to say it's their families commenting as if it makes their opinion any less valid?
Sure they might be a bit biased but aren't we all? The only people down here associated with the game are people with club links or personal links to certain players.
It's interesting to see how many people criticise, whinge and cry foul about pretty much anything and as soon as someone chimes in with something remotely positive about a player, they are dismissed as either:
a) the player himself (i would be politically correct but sadly no-one talks about the womens games so it is only himself)
or
b) a family member of the player.
This is crazy.
http://www.shsc.org.au/news/370-crime-report-hooded-man-steals-south-ball
ReplyDeleteIf you were on the field for kingborough you would know how to spell his name buddy.. from another Klusc player... Neither were his fault and there isnt one player at kingborough that would think he shouldnt be in the Tas team..
ReplyDeleteyeah, why would a kingborough player say that about his team mate? especially iseli? (anon 4.37) i dont think you do play for kingborough
ReplyDeleteWas the State Team selected last night ??
ReplyDeleteAs if womans league can be taken seriosuly....I'd rather watch paint dry!
ReplyDeleteFrom a northern point of view Sam Hughes is an exceptional player definately should start in the middle of park or on the left, the riverside keeper is very solid good distributor excellent under high ball, if mckenna is picked it has to be upfront if you need a holding midfielder pick one. Brayden deserves a shot has a habit of scoring goals always seems to be in the right place.
ReplyDeletedoes dean wilcox still play footy? i see him at the soccer a fair bit.
ReplyDeletei would start mckenna up front with crozza and brayden mann running off him as "wingers" so to speak.....
ReplyDeleteis knights v state team really happening?
ReplyDeletei would be happy to pay entry for that!!!
go clarence would be great to see brownys boys play off for another insignificant trophy at seasons end ,may keep him in a job.
ReplyDeletecheck out clarence defending at 5.28 on this clip... the last defender makes a great effort http://www.youtube.com/user/tasfilmproduction#p/a/u/0/S37-CJNfqKs
ReplyDeletealso huigy's goal was not that good?
actually it looks pretty funny when you just watch that one defender.
ReplyDeleteBUT
what were the rest of them doing letting 3 zebras be in the box against 1 defender?
criminal at this level. or any level really.
Parker gets away with those tackles every week, it's a joke.
ReplyDelete
