A LITTLE WHILE AGO I WAS ALLOWED INTO THE " ARCHIVES " AT SOCCER HOUSE .

THE FOLLOWING ARE EXTRACTS FROM THE TASMANIAN SOCCER COUNCIL LATER TO BECOME THE TASMANIAN SOCCER FEDERATION MINUTES . UNFORTUNATELY LATER MINUTE BOOKS ARE UNABLE TO BE LOCATED .

The Tasmanian Soccer Council 1929 – 1970

Prior to 1939 the Council appeared to meet on a haphazard basis. On occasions up to twelve months occurred between meetings. The Chairman appears to have been voted in on the day.

1931 Formal State Body first discussed. Resolved that Major Cottrell Dormer be approached for his approval

1932 The following meeting a Constitution was presented accepted and signed by the member Associations. These were The Tasmanian British Football Association, The Northern Tasmanian British Football Association, and Break o’ Day Association.
First mention of the Ewing Cup for competition between the Associations.

1933 Break o’day Association disbanded.

1937 First mention of the Hawkins Cup for intrastate under 19 teams.

1947 The Chairman Mr. Michael noted The Ewing Cup was in Launceston. The Waterside Workers Federation to be approached for its recovery.
First Mention of the Cottrell Dormer State Premiership Trophy.

1951 Noted prospect of arranging a demonstration game on the North West Coast.
1952 Queenstown and North West Tasmanian Soccer Associations became members

1953 V Tuting elected as 1st Life Member. Queenstown Association disbanded.
1954 T Rose founder member died in London.
1963 Ampol Cup introduced for competition by members of the Associations.
1971 W Drew, D Stoddart and G Dale elected Life Members
